https://www.facebook.com/Wolverhamptonmusicservice/https://www.instagram.com/wolverhamptonmusicservice/The musical delivery aspects of the project have centred on two large scale performance events that seek to bring the joy of orchestral music to young people in the secondary education phase and massed singing to those pupils in KS2 within the primary phase.
But it is more than that. The project has developed a “placemaking” approach to this through the work. The Music Service has used Wolverhampton Symphony Orchestra, Wolverhampton Staff, Wolverhampton Schools and children. It has been supported by Wolverhampton’s Council and the iconic Wolverhampton Civic Halls. It has therefore brought to the fore, Wolverhampton’s history and local expertise and it has raised access and aspiration among the school population.
