The City of Youth Culture project is significant in terms of energising relationships between the University and the local cultural and youth-based voluntary sector. Although the evaluation activity is to some degree ‘independent’ of the programme and provides a degree of objectivity as well as playing the part of ‘critical friend’, the evaluation team is nevertheless an enthusiastic partner throughout the lifetime of the programme and that includes in shaping the legacy.
