Summer festivals
As we make plans to once again welcome the return of the New Horizons Stage marquee in our courtyard here at NAC, we are very excited to have not one, but two live music festivals coming this summer.
Saturday 25th June sees our second Folk festival featuring Scotlands’s greatest living female voice Eddi Reader, the Anglo-Irish all-female bluegrass quintet, Midnight Skyracer, legendary fiddle player, Tom McConville & guitarist, singer/songwriter, Dave Newey.
The following month sees the Jazz Festival taking place on Saturday 23rd July. Featuring funky trombone maestro Dennis Rollins and his all-new groove outfit ‘Funky Funk’, Laura Jurd’s long running trumpet led jazz quartet Dinosaur, Best Vocalist as voted in the British Jazz awards 2019, Sara Dowling & 4 of the finest young improvisers, Howl Quartet.
Both of these prestigious events will have a summer festival party atmosphere along with real ale, wine and beautiful hot food provided by The Arts Cafe at NAC.
We also see the welcome return of Wolverhampton’s favourite art and photography challenge, Paint The Day, so make sure you save the date of Saturday 16th July for you and your family.
Other events include Community, a celebration of music in the West Midlands and the wider friendships that arise when like minded individuals come together. Featuring a line up of the very best local musicians such as Alex Ohm , Bryony Williams , The Humdrum Express Jack Cattell & The Jack Fletcher Band and many more
Kicking off the outdoor summer season is another folk music treat with a rare opportunity to see two of Britain’s foremost folk performers playing together. One of the finest guitarists in the world is joined by a technically outstanding melodeon player for this very special concert of folk and more for Martin Simpson & Andy Cutting.
With just a couple of early bird tickets remaining for the folk festival. You are strongly advised to book your tickets to take advantage of this discount. The jazz festival is also operating an early bird ticket price too so ensure you benefit and book now.
We have lots more events planned too, so do keep an eye out on our social media pages & what’s on page for all the latest news. Alternatively, you can sign up for our newsletter. Bringing you the latest news, announcements, festivals and events straight to your inbox.
