SNOW PLAY
Family festive theatre will return to Newhampton Arts Centre, Wolverhampton this December with family theatre showings of Snow Play. Expect a snowy spectacular and plenty of snowball fights for the whole family to enjoy.
Snow Play poses the question: what would you do if winter decided to stay and moved into your house, creating icicles in the kitchen and snow all over your bed?
The character of Mr Green represents spring. When he comes back from holiday to find Mr White (winter) in his house, it’s the start of a struggle as Mr White covers the whole house in snow and Mr Green does everything to get him outside into the garden. But it’s getting warmer and, as Mr White stars to melt, the tables might be turning… Snow Play is a showdown between Winter and Spring over who gets to stay and who has to go away.
What follows is a perfect show for children aged three to eight, incorporating the best of physical theatre with mime and slapstick. There’s plenty of opportunity for the audience to get stuck in too, with their own snow, making a snowman and joining in with a huge snowball fight. Snow Play is by UK based children’s theatre company, Lyngo. Their shows have delighted children and adults for over 15 years with their unique mix of fun, beautiful imagery, inventive use of props and an interactive approach to play, no matter the age of their audience. The centre have also released their very own snowy crafts and activities for you to enjoy making with your little ones before coming to watch the ultimate showdown. See what you can create here

THE PERFECT CHRISTMAS* FILM
Earlier this year, Newhampton Arts Centre presented the hugely successful True Romance film dining experience as part of their summer outdoor programme.
Die Hard, released more than 30 years ago is set on Christmas Eve in Los Angeles. Starring Bruce Willis and Alan Rickman, the film joins New York policeman John McClane (Bruce Willis) as he flies to Los Angeles bearing presents and hoping to patch up his marriage. Hans Gruber is in LA to take bearer bonds from the Nakatomi Corp, where McClane’s wife Holly is an executive. When the takeover becomes hostile, it’s up to McClane to take on the terrorists with all the grit and determination he can muster–but not without a sense of humor.
Whilst Die Hard traditionally did not set out to be a Christmas film, the film features a surprising amount of Christmas cheer and tunes. For one night only NAC is offering Wolverhampton audiences the chance to see the yuletide screening, with a special festive dining experience, featuring all the Christmas trimmings from The Arts Café.
Cinema goers can enjoy turkey rolls, pigs in blankets and mince pies (with vegetarian options also available) all included in the ticket price of £17 whilst watching the action thriller. Refreshments will also available throughout the night.
This unique film and food evening not to be missed with tickets costing just £17
