Newhampton Arts Centre’s upcoming season is packed with a fantastic range of shows in music, comedy, and spoken word, ensuring memorable nights out for all audiences. Whether you’re into intimate acoustic gigs, sharp comedy, or vibrant live music, NAC’s line-up for 2025 has something for everyone.
Early 2025 brings Dreadzone, returning to Wolverhampton for their spring tour as they release their ninth official studio album.
The album released in October is a reflection of the last 5 years and a culmination of growing and re-inventing the Dread sound They have successfully navigated through an ever-changing musical landscape and have been a creative force now for over three decades. No stranger to NAC’s stage, previous gigs at the centre have enjoyed sell-out crowds.
For jazz enthusiasts, The Pete Roth Trio featuring legendary drummer Bill Bruford features leader Pete on guitar, Mike Pratt on bass, and the incomparable Bruford on drums. The band creates jazz for a new generation of music enthusiasts, exploring beyond traditional jazz conventions.
Tickets are flying out for The Bluetones Acoustic Show. Featuring two members of Brit Pop legends, this is special acoustic performances of the band’s classics.
Mark Morriss and Adam Devlin have spent the best part of 3 decades honing their craft as a live performers, with 6 Bluetones albums under their belts including 14 Top 40 singles. Expect 2 hours of music interspersed with the banter and story-telling of two musicians who have been working together successfully for over 30 years.
Thea Gilmore pops by on her tour in March. In 20 albums and 25 years into her recording career and only now does Thea Gilmore feel enough of herself to make the self-titled album that renews her vows to music – her first love. Thea has also worked with and won the admiration of cultural icons such as Bruce Springsteen, Martha Wainwright, John Cooper Clarke, Billy Bragg, Steve Earle and Beth Orton
And 2 stand out stand up comedy performances feature Richard Herring as he explores life with only 1 ball. With extra dates added in 2025 for his much-anticipated return to stand-up after six years, Richard talks b*llocks and answers the question on everyone’s lips: Is a severed gonad in a jar a fitting prize to bring in for Taskmaster? Plus Geoff Norcott stops by on his tour too. Geoff who has established a string of TV credits to his name, also had several successful national stand-up tours, with TAKING LIBERTIES touring in 2019 and 2020, and I BLAME THE PARENTS touring 2021/2022
Last but by no means least, Wolverhampton Lit Fest event, Fesshole Live takes the stage. As part of a sell-out UK roadshow, the million follower social media sensation is coming to town. Rob Manuel, creator of Fesshole and B3ta, brings the internet’s naughtiest, funniest, cringiest confessions to Wolverhampton – for one night only. Expect an evening of some of the best and worst confessions known to mankind as Rob digs into the bin of unpublished confessions and uncovers the depths of human grotesqueness. Full of humour & heart, this show is not to be missed! Oh, and there’ll be live confessions from the audience too. But don’t worry, what goes on in the room, stays in the room…
