Thirty four years since they last took to the stage, Wolverhampton’s very own Sandkings are back to reclaim their crown.
This is a show nobody ever thought would happen but the stars have now aligned as original / longstanding members Glenn Dodd, David Brown and Terry Kirkbride, along with new singer Vince Cocker, look to complete the circle.
Contemporaries of local bands such as The Wonder Stuff and Pop Will Eat Itself, Sandkings had success in the late 1980s and early 1990s after signing to London Records. With a number of brilliantly received singles and a debut album, they went on to tour with The Stone Roses and support other major bands of the day such as the Stuffies, Levellers and Jesus Jones as well as selling out the Wulfrun Hall and other headline shows.
Following the release of three Anthologies on renowned Wolverhampton based label Revolver Records, the Sandkings renaissance has now developed to the point where fans will finally get the chance to see them live again.
This is set to be the party to end all parties! The rain has passed and it’s time to meet up at the rainbow’s end again.
