Diverted Sound presents Cud + Mighty Mighty… Cud’s traditional autumn tour brings a ‘Choc Full Of Hits!’ to Wolverhampton

A long overdue return to Wolverhampton for Cud, the Indie-Pop band formed in Leeds, in 1986. Cud consists of Carl Puttnam, Mike Dunphy, William Potter and Gogs Byrn. Though an Indie band, Cud’s music incorporates elements of funk and pop. They were critically acclaimed throughout their career, supported the Pixies and recorded sessions with the late John Peel. Despite this, Cud never broke through to a mainstream UK record-buying audience and remain as one of the most underrated bands from the British music scene in the last 20 years. Cud disbanded in 1995 and reformed in 2006.

“Sexy rhythms and memorable sparky lyrics. The music press hated them, the fan’s couldn’t get enough of em!”

For all things Cud…

Mighty Mighty

Another long overdue return to Wolverhampton is for Mighty Mighty, who are an indie band formed in Birmingham, in 1983 by Russell Burton (vocals & bass), Mick Geoghegan (guitar), Pete Geoghegan (Vox organ and guitar), D J Hennessy (drums) and Hugh McGuinness (vocals and harmonica). Their jingly jangly sound ensured they were darlings of the C86 era, and this resulted in them making an appearance on the iconic NME C86 compilation.

Expect to hear a set of ‘A sides, B sides, heirs and spares’.
